Over 800 Wilmington Locals Attend RiverLights Holiday Festival of Homes & Dashing Thru the Glow 5K

Over 800 cheerful Wilmington residents attended the RiverLights Holiday Festival of Homes and raced through the decorated Dashing Thru the Glow 5K course this past Saturday, Dec. 2. As Wilmington's premier coastal community, RiverLights hosted this second annual holiday event to celebrate the merriment of the season for the Wilmington community to enjoy, while marking one year of the community’s official open.

Hundreds of locals came to cozy up by the fire pits and enjoy carolers, live music from local bands in Live Oak Commons, hot cocoa and cocktails and a delicious lunch buffet. Children didn’t pass up the opportunity to tell Santa Claus what was on their wish list for Christmas while they got their picture taken and played holiday themed-activities at the Kids Korner.

Attendees were in the holiday spirit and dressed up in Christmas-themed clothing as they raced through the holiday lights during the Second Annual Dashing Thru the Glow. Of course, Santa was there to cheer everyone on.

If you missed the holiday festival, not to worry! The Marina Village at RiverLights will light up every evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. for the Wilmington community to enjoy.

“We had a huge turnout for our Holiday Festival of Homes this year,” said Jim Henry, vice president of operations of Newland Communities. “It has been an incredible year with so many milestones, and what better way to celebrate than with our residents and neighbors that have welcomed RiverLights with open arms. We wish everyone a joyous holiday season and look forward to another year at RiverLights.”
