Briar Chapel’s Upcoming Events

Looking to make connections and enjoy events within your community? Briar Chapel offers a variety of events and community-building opportunities every month. To get a better look at the activities you can enjoy in Briar Chapel, check out the events below.

Bonding in Briar Chapel: To keep the community connected, there are many regularly held events where residents can catch up with their neighbors and make new friends. In August, residents are invited to Coffee Social Hours, Community Book Club meetings, poker, card games, pickleball and Friday night happy hour. Cards at the Club: Poker, Canasta, Mahjong, Bridge and more! Not into card games? The community is also hosting a bingo night dedicated to families Thursday, August 19 and a bingo night for residents of all ages on Thursday, August 26.

Food Truck Mania: Nothing brings people together like good food. Every Sunday in August a variety of food trucks will gather at the Briar Clubhouse where residents are able to enjoy donuts, lobster, empanadas and more.

PORCH: Briar Chapel partners with CORA as a nonprofit chapter of the PORCH program, a Chapel Hill-based that fights hunger in Chatham County. As one of the community's many charitable efforts, residents donate non-perishable foods to the pantry each month. For back-to-school season, school supplies are being accepted along with food. School supplies will be picked up Friday, August 20 with the regular food drive donations.

Chair Yoga: Yoga helps relieve stress, increase strength and improve flexibility. Fully vaccinated seniors are invited to come out every Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. to practice yoga standing or sitting with the support of a chair.

Kids and Creativity: Being creative is not a hobby, it’s a way of life. Every Wednesday the kids of the community are invited to participate in arts and crafts. Click here to register.

Wine & Design on Wheels: Wine not? Friday, August 19 at 6 p.m. in the Clubhouse, Wine & Design on Wheels is coming to Briar Chapel to hold a private class for residents! Click here to register, use the event code “resident.” Please bring your own favorite bottle of wine and an appetizer to share!

Tie-Dye Your Summer: August 24 Briar Chapel will host a Tie Dye Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. at Great Meadow Park. Please bring your own t-shirt.

Back to School Splash: Celebrate the last few weeks of summer with Briar Chapel on August 28 with a selection of food trucks, water balloon fights and more. This is a free event located at Great Meadow Park from 12-2 p.m.

Solar and Suds: Considering going green? To educate residents on the benefits, costs and more details on going solar, Briar Chapel is hosting an education session led by resident and Southern Energy Management team member Dave Anderson on Monday, August 30 at 6 p.m. Come out to learn more about going solar and enjoy free refreshments.
