Fun, Fast Day Trips for the Fam

One of the best parts about life in Briar Chapel is the abundance of activities around the area. Hop in the car and take a delightful day trip with the family. Here are a few of our favorite “day-cation” spots!

Farmers Market produce

For the Foodies

The Triangle’s food scene is flourishing with scrumptious local dives and elegant eateries. Drive over to downtown Raleigh for a rooftop dining experience at the Raleigh Times Bar or classic American cuisine at The Village Grill. Bite down on a burger at Bull City Burger and Brewery or grab a slice or two from Durham’s popular pizza joint, Pie Pushers. In Chapel Hill, snag an old-fashioned burger and shake from Sutton’s Drug Store, or “pig out” on some take-out from The Pig. Feeling fancy? Head to the Top of the Hill for craft beer, an eclectic venue and signature dishes.

In the mood for locally grown produce, homemade jams and jellies and an array of fresh meats and cheeses? Check out the Chapel Hill Farmers Market.

Luckily, Briar Chapel foodies don’t have to travel far for a delicious meal. Veranda provides burgers, pizza, Latin American cuisine and farm-fresh meals for each of our cuisine connoisseurs to taste.

For all our modern-day adventurers, the Triangle offers tons of exploration escapes, all just a quick commute from Briar Chapel. Take the little ones on a camping excursion to Jordan Lake, lace up your shoes for a family stroll around the trails of Lake Johnson or sprawl out on a picnic blanket and view the Raleigh skyline from Dorothea Dix Park. Hop on the paddle boats at Pullen Park or enjoy the fresh air of Lake Crabtree Park.

With Briar Chapel’s outdoor spaces, you can answer the call of the wild in your own backyard in our community's plethora of parks and playgrounds!

Educational Escapades

For our wildlife enthusiasts and budding scientists, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences has re-opened its doors for knowledge-seekers of all ages. Located in downtown Raleigh, Marbles Kids Museum is currently offering timed-entry tickets for kids (and their parents) to come learn and play.
